GRC Platform Formalize and ISO Collaborate to Bring Standards Into the Digital Age
As the industry’s trusted operational system for GRC, Formalize has secured a pioneering collaboration with ISO. In doing so we are bridging the gap between standard and execution, moving ISO standards into an operational system that embeds official content to empower teams beyond documentation.
Copenhagen, Denmark - Formalize, a European GRC platform, has entered an official collaboration with UNE, the official ISO and IEC representative in Spain. The agreement allows official ISO standards to be embedded directly into its platform — meaning companies can now alleviate the administrative tax of complying to the standards via fragmented documents.
Introduction
For most compliance teams, managing ISO standards has meant juggling PDFs, spreadsheets, and manual interpretation of dense regulatory language. The standard lives in one place; the evidence of compliance in another; the internal expertise somewhere else entirely. For smaller teams without a dedicated compliance function, that gap is hard to close.
Through this collaboration, Formalize is embedding the official ISO standards directly into its platform. This eliminates the long-standing friction of external procurement and "proof-of-purchase" audits, allowing organizations to access official frameworks in a native, actionable format.
"While PDF standards are essential for information, they weren't designed for daily operational execution. Our platform turns requirements into action by ensuring the system and the standard speak the same language. Being selected to develop advanced GRC tools with input from an official ISO/IEC representative is the strongest possible confirmation that we got it right,”

Making High-Level Compliance Achievable for Mid-Market Teams
The selection of Formalize as a strategic collaborator stems from a shared vision that standards must be modernized through digitalization to remain relevant. The collaboration will also include the launch of Formalize IQ, the company’s AI-powered compliance guidance capabilities.
This means Formalize IQ can access and use the official standards rather than relying on unverified data. The pilot aims to assist in the interpretation and application of standards, helping teams identify GRC gaps with institutional confidence.
The collaboration makes Formalize the first GRC provider in Spain to secure such a direct strategic collaboration to modernize ISO workflows and strengthens its position as the pioneer of modernized compliance workflows. By lowering the barrier to entry, the collaboration makes high-level compliance achievable for mid-market teams that lack extensive internal 'compliance expert' resources.
“The way organizations consume and implement standards must evolve to meet the requirements of a digital era. By integrating our official frameworks into an operational system like Formalize, we ensure that global standards remain both accessible and actionable for modern businesses.”
